At the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp Gudrun Bourel obtained master diplomas for flute (class Aldo Baerten) and piccolo (class Peter Verhoyen). She is piccolo solo at the Gelders Orchestra (Arnhem). She is a member of the chamber music ensembles Het Gelders Blaaskwintet and the flute and harp duo Isera. She teaches piccolo at the Conservatoire in Utrecht and flute at the Conservatoire in Zwolle.
Gudrun Bourel
After studying flute, musicology and music management, Els Weckx applied for the piccolo master program at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, where she graduated as one of the first piccolo masters. She worked for ten years as a freelance flute and piccolo player in several Belgian and Dutch orchestras. Currently she manages the international contacts for I Solisti del Vento, one of the best known wind ensemble in Belgium.
Els Weckx
At the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp Anke Lauwers obtained master diplomas for flute (class Aldo Baerten) and piccolo (class Peter Verhoyen). At the Conservatoire of Amsterdam she studied wit Harrie Starreveld. She obtained the 1st prize at the NFA Piccolo Artist Competition 2010 (USA). She works freelance as a flute and piccolo player in several professional orchestras. She plays in a duo with guitare player Daniële Van Os.
Anke Lauwers
At the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp Sofie Verbeeck obtained master diplomas for flute (class Aldo Baerten) and piccolo (class Peter Verhoyen). She works freelance as a flute and piccolo player in deFilharmonie, Brussels Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, Gelders Orkest … Sofie is a member of the chamber music ensemble Pétillant’Semble and the flute quartet iFlutes.
Sofie Verbeeck
Tiny De Herdt obtained a master diploma for flute at the Royal Conservatoire Royal Brussels (class Carlos Bruneel) and a master diploma for piccolo at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (class Peter Verhoyen). She is the first flute in the Mechels Kamerorkest and works freelance as a flutist and piccolo player in the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Chapelle de Lorraine, Il Novecento, deOrkestacademie, Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège.
Tiny De Herdt
Katelijne Franssens studied at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (bachelor diploma flute with Aldo Baerten – master diploma piccolo with Peter Verhoyen) and the Royal Conservatoire Brussels (master diploma flute with Carlos Bruneel). She works as an architect and freelance musician with orchestras such as Brussels Philharmonic, Orchestre de la Monnaie and the Orchestra of the Flemish Opera and is 2nd flute with Le Concert Olympique.

Elke Elsen obtained a master diploma for flute at the Conservatoire Royal Bruxelles (class Baudoin Giaux) and a master diploma for piccolo at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (class Peter Verhoyen). She is piccolo solo at the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest and works freelance as a flutist and piccolo player in the Nationaal Orkest van België, Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, Le Concert Olympique, Frascati Symphonic. She is a member of the chamber music ensemble Triotique.
Elke Elsen
After studying at the Conservatoire of Amsterdam (class Abbie De Quant and Harrie Starreveld) Ilonka Kolthof studied at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp where she obtained a master diploma piccolo (class Peter Verhoyen). As part of her final recital project she developed The Dutch Piccolo Project. As a free lance musician she works in professional orchestras and ensembles. She obtained 3rd prize at the NFA Piccolo Young Artist Competition (2014) and second prize at the Kujala International Piccolo competition (2017).
Ilonka Kolthof
Roumanian flute player Stefana Olariu won first prizes in National Flute Contest and first mention at the Niccolo Paganini Contest. As a flute soloist and a piccolo player she played in several orchestras such as Antonin Ciolan ensemble & National Youth Orchestra of Roumania. After graduating at the Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca she decided to perfect her piccolo skills at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp where she obtained her master diplom for piccolo (class Peter Verhoyen).
Stefana Olariu
Spanish flute player Aida Lopez Sucunza obtained a master diploma flute at the Royal Conservatoire Brussels (class Carlos Bruneel) and piccolo at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (class Peter Verhoyen). She is finalist of the Ortigueira Young Talents Competition (Spain), 3rd prize at the International Kujala Piccolo Competition (USA) and semifinalist of the NFA Piccolo Artist Competition (USA). She is a member of the Ensemble Harmonie and works as a freelance musician in several orchestras in Spain and Belgium.
Aida Lopez Sucunza
Italian flute player Comaci Boschi won first prizes in the XVI competition Riviera della Versilia and the VI Arte a 6 corde chamber music competition. She studied flute in Piacenza, Modena, Parma and The Hague. She decided to perfect her piccolo skills at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp where she obtained her master diploma for piccolo (class Peter Verhoyen). She works as a freelance flute and piccolo player in several Italian orchestras.
Comaci Boschi
After studying flute (Frank Hendrickx, Marieke Schneeman, Aldo Baerten) and bagpipes and baroque musette (Jean-Pierre Van Hees), Inge Smedts graduated as a master piccolo with Peter Verhoyen. She is piccolo solo at the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides, a member of the Scarlet Harptrio, the flute harp duo Casual Chic, the woodwind quintet Amarant+ and teaches flute, piccolo and bagpipes. Several Belgian composers wrote new music for her cd projects Casual Chic (music for flute and harp combined with poetry and film) and Cocktail Maison (flutes and percussion)..
Inge Smedts
Maddi Goodwin studied in Queensland, Tasmania and Sydney. In Antwerp, she obtained master diplomas for flute (class Aldo Baerten) and piccolo (class Peter Verhoyen). As part of her final recital program Maddi created A Sunburnt Country Project (an interdisciplinary project with music, dance and poetry) and wrote a paper on research of Vivaldi’s piccolo concerto in a historical informed performance. In Australia she realized several projects with film music and the creation of contemporary compositions.
Maddi Goodwin
Spanish flute player Antonio Muriana Atencia obtained third prize in the competition for young talent in Malaga and played as a soloist in the Festival for contemporary music in Malaga. After graduating at the Conservatoire in Malaga (class Maria Jose Sanchez) he continued his professional studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp where he obtained the master diploma flute (class Aldo Baerten) and piccolo (class Peter Verhoyen).
Antonio Muriano Atencia
Slovenian flute player Blaž Snoj studied flute (flute class Aldo Baerten, master degree with high distinction) and piccolo (class Peter Verhoyen) at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. He is a freelance musician at deFilharmonie, deOrkestacademie, Simfonika Vrhnika. He is a special prize winner at Benelux flute concours & finalist of the international flute contest in Prague. He teaches at the International Flute Seminar Bruges.
Blaž Snoj
Portuguese flute player Tiago Silva studied at the Maia Conservatoire (Rute Cruze), the Porto University of Music (Raquel Lima) and the Hochschule für Musik Hamburg (Jürgen Franz). At the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp he obtained a master diploma piccolo with Peter Verhoyen. Tiago is a member of the woodwind section of the Lucerne Festival Academy.
Tiago Silva
Spanish flutist Ana Belén Rodriguez obtained a bachelor diploma at the Conservatoire of Córdoba (class of Saleta Suárez). She was a member of the Young Andalucia Orchestra, Young Córdoba Orchestra and Jaén-Jazzy. At the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp she obtained the master diploma for piccolo with Peter Verhoyen. As a freelance musician she works with several professional orchestras in Spain.
Ana Belén Rodriguez
Spanish flutist Ester Esteban Solana obtained a bachelor diploma at the Conservatoire of Sevilla. She was a member of the Nederlands Jeugd Orkest, Orquesta Joven de Extramadura, Orquest Joven de Andalucia. At the Royal Conservatoires of Brussels and Antwerp she obtained respectively a master diploma flute (Carlos Bruneel) and piccolo (Peter Verhoyen). At the Orquesta de Extramadura she is appointed as permanent remplacant. As freelance musician she plays in several Spanish orchestras.
